Pampering, Over

Every year since I have been married, and more-so since being a mom, I get to be pampered for a month straight! Let me explain:

April 22- my birthday, day full of pampering...

April 30 - our anniversary, pampered (I also get to do some pampering that day too)

Mother's day- Pampered.

It's always a little sad when it's all over, because I have to wait till Christmas to get a gift, unless I have a baby, then I get pampered some more ;)

Now that mother's day is long past, so is my special treatment. It's ok. It's fun while it lasts, but it's good to get back to normal too.

**To be completely honest, now that I'm 26 and paying for my own health insurance money has all of the sudden become very tight.**

That being said, let's get on with the story:

For the last week to two weeks Jonathan has said that his cells at work haven't been working out (not growing well, dying prematurely, getting contaminated...) whatever it is, he hasn't been able to do many if any experiments. If this continued he didn't think he could make it out for our quick vacation to Philly to support my brother for his Dental School Graduation! My whole family will be there so it's more than just a grad, it's a family reunion.

Well... his cells didn't cooperate. So we decided on Monday that he needed to stay home. With that came the question: how am I going to get myself and Cambria there? After a lot of phone calls we decided that I would ride with my sister out there (she had room out there but not on the way back) and then we would check the price of a one way flight back home. We saw some for $140, which would be less than gas going both ways, so we thought that was a deal! Right before we clicked to order the ticket we thought we should check some other sites. We saw a direct flight, at a better time of day for $39.00!!!! We jumped on that one for sure!

We did not fail to recognize how much money this would save us, and thank our Heavenly Father for both the inspiration to fly home, and also the inspiration to look at a few more sites before booking with the first site.

We have two vacations planned this summer, this one and one to visit Jonathan's family. Both of which are going to be expensive, and if we did both, we wouldn't have enough money budgeted. We felt like it was important to go to both, and so we kept with our original plans to make it to both events. Blessings like this one is how we are going to be able to make them work financially. Thank You Heavenly Father!

My Little Helper

I folded laundry while Cambria was awake for the first time yesterday. Cambria was such a good little helper! She liked to hold the folded clothes, and a few times she even put them where they were supposed to go. I like to give her socks to put away because they don't come unfolded when she throws them into the drawer. She also helped me put the wet clothes into the dryer.
I need to jump on her willingness/excitedness to help, I know it will only last a few months/years.

Remember how I said that I would be seriously surprised if our baby was a boy. Well, that's totally what happened. I'm still trying to wrap my head around having a boy.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about having a boy, but I just wasn't prepared for thinking about a boy coming to our family any time soon.

Today is the day!

Today is the gender revealing day! I am so incredibly excited! During my half-awake time this morning while Cambria tried to tell us she was ready to be awake (about an hour to a half hour earlier than she should be awake) I kept having half day-dreams half dreams about cute ways to announce our next baby's gender. I kept imagining the tech telling me it was a boy just so that if that actually happened today I would be emotionally prepared. I have been thinking and planning on this baby being a girl for so long (long before we got pregnant) that it would be quite the shock if baby turns out to be a boy.

I also kept having real dreams about delivering this baby... I think I have baby on the brain. That's good, I like it that way.

3:00 PM cannot come fast enough.

Kick Kick!

I have been feeling baby move for a few weeks now, but this morning was the first time Jonathan felt him/her move! This is big, people, this just adds to the reality of the situation.

I like it when Jonathan can take part in this baby excitement.

Gender Guessing Time!

The time has come! I can't believe I'm almost half way through this pregnancy. We get to find out the gender of this new baby on Tuesday!!

What are all of your guesses? I asked Jonathan what he thought this baby was and he says "I'm told it's a girl" (I'm convinced it's a girl) but he told me his guess is a boy just to be different from me. We'll see who's right!

I'm so excited! I can't believe that I'm almost half-way! I think since the majority of my pregnancy I have lived in an over-sized sweater while in the house I have missed my belly growth, and the new appetite is just a part of life, I don't often associate it with the fact that I have a baby inside and twice as many hormones running through my body...

Speaking of hormones... ya... they are mean sometimes. Especially to my poor husband.  I have been on an emotional roller coaster for the last 19 weeks. Poor Jonathan has to deal with me, and deal with how easily overwhelmed I get, so that means a lot more Cambee duty. And he has to tell me it's ok that I'm acting this way and that he loves me anyway... poor guy!

... ... anyway... what are your guesses! Oh, and here's the most recent belly picture (I'll post the pregnancy progression at some point)

Keep in mind this was at 16 weeks and I'm almost three weeks bigger than this...

Sick Baby

Cambria has had a fever this week. This is her first fever of her life. It's so sad to see my child sick, but I am not going to lie, I don't mind the extra cuddles, and the extra story time we get.

The first day she was sick (with a fever) I didn't realize it and brought her to the park and we had a good, fun day. That night, Jonathan took her temperature and it was 102.4... just a bit too high for comfort. As we were watching her that night she was so cute, she would cuddle with us, and then she would get down and go about her "day's work" but just a little slower, like she was feeling really groggy. "I've gotta keep going, there's work to be done. There are drawers to open, Tupperware to take out... Don't even mention the pots and pans." We had a good laugh, that is exactly what she was doing, and how she was going about doing it.

Last night she had the worst night sleep, I think, that she has ever had. We ran out of Tylenol and I think she REALLY needed it last night. She woke up at least every half hour (at least I think she did, she did while I was awake) and there were times she woke up every 5 to 10 minutes. I felt so bad for her. By 3:00 I couldn't handle it anymore, I felt like I hadn't gotten a wink of sleep all night. We had some Benadryl, and so we gave her that. I think it helped...

Today after some cuddles, and books I put her down by 9:15. She's still zonked... it's 12:30! I'm worried she's going to mess up her nights and days, but at the same time, she needs the sleep so desperately!
